An on-site visit takes about 40 minutes, it costs nothing, and you sign nothing while we’re there. We walk the house, measure it, photograph it, and then build a 3D rendering of your building — yours, not a stock example. The decision happens after that, with the rendering in front of you.

Why 40 minutes instead of 10?
Because a good share of that time is spent looking at the soffit from underneath. A boxed soffit and an open eave don’t take the same rail, and you can’t tell which one you have from the sidewalk.
The rest goes to counting levels. A two-storey house with a covered porch usually has three separate soffit lines, not one — and that’s where a project grows or shrinks.
What actually gets measured?
Every roofline run, the height of each level, where the peaks and columns sit, and where the controller can be mounted near power. We photograph each elevation, including the ones you never look at.
Access gets noted too. A walkout basement, a deck under a roof peak, a cedar hedge tight to the wall — each one changes the ladder plan, and that gets settled on site rather than over the phone. It’s the variable that surprises people most often.
If the project also touches the yard or the inside of the house, we look at those in the same trip. Landscape lighting and interior lighting plan better together than six months apart.
When do you see the 3D rendering?
After the visit, not during it. We build it from your photos and your measurements: your facade, your roof lines, the light sitting where it would actually sit.
That step settles most of the hesitation. Seeing your own house lit answers a question that ten photos of strangers’ houses never will. Finished installs are worth a look in our project gallery, but they aren’t the same thing as seeing yours.
Nothing is ordered until you approve the rendering.
Deposit, balance, and the 10-day cancellation right
On a residential project the deposit is 30% at signing and the balance is due on completion. No payment is asked for during the visit itself.
A contract signed in your home after a solicitation generally falls under the itinerant-merchant rules of Québec’s Consumer Protection Act. In that case you have 10 days to cancel at no cost, and the period starts the day after you receive your signed copy of the contract, according to the Office de la protection du consommateur. When does the crew actually come?
Our crews are out Monday to Friday, 9 to 5. The install date is set once the rendering is approved and the material is confirmed.

What the visit doesn’t solve
If all you want is a number by email tonight, this isn’t the fastest path. The visit exists precisely because a price given without seeing the soffit is a price that changes later.
Residential projects generally land between $3,000 and $5,000 for a standard install, from $15,000 for a mid-size project, and $30,000 to $50,000 and up for a complete home. Is the visit really free? Yes. No invoice, no deposit, no signature requested while we’re there.
Do I need to be home for the whole 40 minutes? Ideally yes. A good part of the visit is a conversation: which zones matter to you, what you want lit every evening, and what you’d rather save for occasions.
Does the 3D rendering cost anything? No. It’s produced after the visit and it’s yours whether you move forward or not.
How long between the visit and the rendering? It depends on the size of the project and how many elevations need modelling. You get a specific timeline before we leave rather than a vague promise.
Can I check your RBQ licence myself? Yes, and you should. The number is 5864-7108-01 and it can be validated free in the RBQ’s licence holder registry.
