An on-site visit takes about 40 minutes and it costs nothing. We walk the house with you, talk through what you want to light, and show you a demo so you see exactly what you’re booking; then we measure, photograph and build a 3D rendering of your building — yours, not a stock example. During the visit we also present a whole-project price and walk you through it line by line. If you sign the agreement on the spot, we take the deposit; otherwise you leave with the rendering and the number, and you decide when you’re ready.

Why 40 minutes instead of 10?
Because measuring is only part of the job. We spend most of that time with you: we walk the house talking about what you want lit every evening and what you’d rather save for occasions, and we show you a demo so you can see concretely what you’re booking.
Once we understand what you need, we present the whole-project price on site and walk it through with you step by step. Then we measure the roofline, the levels and the soffits — a boxed soffit and an open eave don’t take the same rail, and you can’t tell which one you have from the sidewalk.
What actually gets measured?
Every roofline run, the height of each level, where the peaks and columns sit, and where the controller can be mounted near power. We photograph each elevation, including the ones you never look at.
Access gets noted too. A walkout basement, a deck under a roof peak, a cedar hedge tight to the wall — each one changes the ladder plan, and that gets settled on site rather than over the phone.

When do you see the 3D rendering?
After the visit, not during it. We build it from your photos and your measurements: your facade, your roof lines, the light sitting where it would actually sit.
That step settles most of the hesitation. Seeing your own house lit answers a question that ten photos of strangers’ houses never will. Finished installs are worth a look in our project gallery, but they aren’t the same thing as seeing yours.
Nothing is ordered until you approve the rendering.
Deposit, balance, and the 10-day cancellation right
On a residential project the deposit is 30% at signing and the balance is due on completion. The visit itself is free, but if you sign the agreement on the spot we take the deposit at signing — that’s what reserves your file and locks in your install date.
A contract signed in your home rather than at our place of business generally falls under the itinerant-merchant rules of Québec’s Consumer Protection Act. In that case you have 10 days to cancel at no cost, and the period starts the day after you receive your signed copy of the contract, according to the Office de la protection du consommateur. When does the crew actually come?
The install date is set once the rendering is approved.

What the visit doesn’t solve
If all you want is a number by email tonight, this isn’t the fastest path. The visit exists precisely because a price given without seeing the soffit is a price that changes later.
Residential projects generally land between $3,000 and $5,000 for a starter project, from $5,000 to $15,000 for a standard one, and $20,000 and up — often above $50,000 — for a complete home. How long between the visit and the rendering? It depends on the size of the project and how many elevations need modelling. Ask us for the turnaround before we leave.
